During this 6-week introductory course, students will learn about philosophy, the foundations of poses (asanas), and work on breath control (pranayama). This course specifically combines two unique styles: traditional basic and yin yoga (yinyasa). Traditional Basic focuses on muscles and strength training, and yin focuses on fascia, connective tissue, and joint care. By the end of this course, students will be able to develop their own home practice and venture into the greater yoga community to sample other classes. The course is specifically designed for individuals who have never taken a yoga class. Modifications will be given to accommodate all. Pam will strive to make all individuals feel safe and comfortable. Students do not need to be able to touch their toes, but they must be willing to try!
