- FULL TIME POSITION – MAINTENANCE
The Martinsburg-Berkeley County Parks & Recreation has an immediate opening for a full time Maintenance position.Duties include performing daily manual labor tasks throughout the parks and facilities operated by M-BC Parks & Recreation in Martinsburg and Berkeley County. Duties will include, but not limited to shop duties, and assisting in park construction projects that may include digging, concrete work, equipment repair, painting, staining, park structure assembly, etc.; grass cutting, weeding, pruning, brush and debris and park trash removal and other landscaping duties; loading and unloading of heavy material from trucks and other vehicles; assisting with set-up and tear-down of special events; other duties as assigned.Employee must be able to meet all physical requirements of the job including the ability to work outside, regularly lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and regularly perform physical labor. Valid driver’s license required for position. Position starts at $13/hour with benefit package. PROGRAM PROPOSAL INFORMATION:
Do you have an idea for a program or event that you think would benefit the citizens of Berkeley County? The Parks and Recreation Department is seeking contract instructors for youth and adult leisure enrichment, fitness, sports and adaptive activities. We are currently developing a form to get a conversation started and help us keep Martinsburg-Berkeley County Parks and Recreation growing!
An instructor must possess strong communication, organizational and teaching skills; and demonstrate a desire to develop and promote their program(s).
Programs are selected based on the instructor’s qualifications and experience, availability, need for the program and marketability.
